Sy came to Castle Firrine as a teenage boy, seeking asylum for murdering his father: the mayor of Henspen. No one in his hamlet believed the boy’s father was a pedophile – especially his wife – and so Sy suffered for years at the hands of his seemingly upstanding citizen of the community. Needless to say, he acted out and was a troublesome boy in the town.
That is, until the day he saw his father put hands on his little his sister. Sy charged his father, and bounced off his chest; his father backhanded him into the armoire, and threatened to kill his sister if Sy ever did that again. Sy skulked outside, stole the smithy’s hammer, and sneaked back into the house that night. He smashed his father’s nose into his skull, spewing blood all over his sleeping mother.
Fortunately, an upper-ranking cleric was in Firrine’s ward at the time, and promised the boy – and the mob that chased him – that he would see to the truth of the matter. Under the magical aide of a zone of truth, it was found that Sy was in the right.
But those days are long behind him now, and Sy prefers to dwell upon his future as a healer of justice akin to that of the patron cleric who brought new life to him. As such, he cares for the wounded of Firrine, and is frequently assigned to ambulance caravans.
